food & allergy

Kids love to eat with their friends at Pop in Kids Club! We make it easy for kids to have nutritious foods by providing balanced meals and snacks throughout the day.

Our food options follow state guidelines and allow your children to maintain their energy through the day to maximize their experience. Children in our care for four or more consecutive hours will always be provided food, per the state guidelines.

Meals & Snacks.

Pop in Kids Club sells breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which are updated in our weekly menu. These meals comply with the state guidelines for food groups and the menu is available online and in the center.

Families have the option to purchase the balanced meal from our weekly menu or bring a nut- and shellfish-free meal that does not require refrigeration or to be reheated.

Food Safety

Pop in Kids Club is a nut-free (including tree nuts and peanuts) and shellfish-free facility. In the interest of maintaining a safe environment for all the children, no foods containing peanut/tree nut or shellfish products may be brought into the facility.

Pop in Kids Club does not guarantee a completely allergen-free environment, rather: to minimize the risk of exposure, encourage self-responsibility, and plan for effective response to possible emergencies.

Choking Hazards

Parents should not provide and staff members will not offer or serve to children under four years of age foods that are associated with young children’s choking incidents.

Round food such as grapes and hard candy, firm food such as hot dogs and nuts and sticky food such as peanut butter and caramels are some common examples of common food choking hazards.

Special Diets

If your child requires a special diet, please indicate this on your child’s application in the allergies section.

Pop in Kids Club makes every reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable Federal and State laws to comply with physician-prescribed special diets.

Teachers of children with allergies are notified to ensure meals provided at the center will not interfere with the child’s allergies.
